The gentleman holding the FIFA World Cup trophy aloft, once described it using these words.
"The lines spring out from the base, rising in spirals, stretching out to receive the world. From the remarkable dynamic tensions of the compact body of the sculpture rise the figures of two athletes at the stirring moment of victory"
Identify the person.
Ans: Silvio Gazzaniga. The sculptor of the FIFA World Cup trophy.

I'm assuming it's the person who designed the new trophy. All I remember, or so I think, is that he was an Italian.
The Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga.

I want to put forward a little question from my side assuming in advance the generous permission of the blog author.
Here goes my question:
The first ever Jules Rimet Cup had quite a hazardous existence for some time.A certain Italian had to hide it in a shoe-box under his bed throughout the second world war thus preventing it from falling into the hands of the occupying troops. Now, who was this gentleman?
